Palliative Care

End of life care (also known as palliative care) is the care of people with an illness where recovery is not expected.

We can provide up to 24-hour specialist care in the comfort of your own home, an environment you feel safe, secure and at ease in. Our dedicated care team work with patients, friends and families, GPs and community nurses to help provide a full care package, including assisting with medication and helping to control pain and other symptoms.

In particular, Lighthouse Care focuses on:

. Relief from suffering by helping to manage the physical symptoms such as pain, sickness, tiredness or loss of appetite

. Psychological care and emotional support to cope with the complex feelings experienced around death and bereavement

. Practical support and advice from our caring staff understanding resident’s wishes in advance should their health start to deteriorate care for the family giving practical and emotional support before and after the death of the resident
